The Social Science Research Council welcomes American University and Stony Brook University to the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences, joining more than 50 North American institutions of higher education (and more than 90 campuses) dedicated to connecting across disciplines and institutions to support impactful social and behavioral science that produces new knowledge and advances the common good.
“AU has a long-standing commitment to producing interdisciplinary research that supports evidence-driven public policy, private and nonprofit practice,” said Diana L. Burley, American University’s Vice Provost for Research and Innovation. “The outreach, networking, and sponsorship opportunities offered through the SSRC consortium will expand our ability to drive research informed civic engagement and achieve positive societal outcomes through actionable research. As we like to say, Eagles SOAR!”
The consortium of research-intensive higher education institutions in the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences connects faculty and institutional leaders in the social and behavioral sciences with one another as well as with external partners in need of their expertise.
“We’re thrilled to welcome two new institutions to the College and University Fund,” said Anna Harvey, president of the SSRC. “Each of these universities shares with the Council a long and rich history of research-led innovation in the public interest, and we’re grateful for their partnership in supporting the work of the social and behavioral science research community to address the vital problems of our time.”
